Aircraft Charters Not Just For The WealthyAircraft charter When you charter an aircraft for a flight, it typically involves a light, mid or heavy style executive airplane. The cost is roughly $3000 per flight hour and there can be additional charges for catering, ground transportation and other services. Mid and heavy size executive jets are more expensive than the smaller turbo-prop styles but can seat more and have a longer flight range. The cost of a chartered flight is certainly more expensive than a commercial flight but there are plenty of advantages that make this a popular method of travel. Chartered airplanes are smaller than commercial jets and therefore have access to smaller airports. This is important because the flight can often get you closer to your final destination and make the trip faster. There are roughly 500 airports in the U.S. that can service large commercial planes, but there are more than 5000 airports that can handle the smaller executive flights. Chartered flights can be available on very short notice. In today?s business world company officials can?t afford to wait for the next scheduled commercial flight. A chartered flight can leave on the client?s schedule. When traveling in the conventional commercial way, you can lose a lot of time standing in line, arriving early for a flight, waiting with layovers in between flights, waiting on luggage and delayed flights. All of this time is valuable and chartered flights allow you to use the time to your benefit. With a chartered airplane you don?t have to arrive one to two hours ahead of time like you do with a commercial flight. Instead, you can arrive fifteen minutes before the flight. And if you are running late, the flight waits for you. After all you are the client, the only client. With a chartered flight you can also make better use of the flight time. On a commercial flight, even if everyone in your group is on the same flight, it is not feasible to use that time for a meeting. Your seating arrangement may have you in different parts of the plane and with the tight space and the presence of other passengers, you can?t hold a meeting. But with a chartered airplane the flight is private and the seating arrangements are very conducive for meetings. Every aspect that can be annoying about a commercial flight is eliminated with a private charter. Those in-flight snacks are replaced with available catering. You can have the exact food you want during the flight. This gives you a great opportunity to entertain a client during the flight. Not only will he or she be impressed with the chartered flight, but you can provide a first-class meal. And lost luggage is a problem of the past. On a private charter your luggage isn?t tossed in with that of hundreds of other people. It is loaded directly on your plane. There are no connecting flights where your luggage could get misdirected. You and your important items will arrive together at the destination. Obviously a chartered flight isn?t the most affordable way to travel. But for those who place a great deal of value on time, luxury, convenience and safety, they do offer a great alternative to conventional commercial flights.
